It’s an exciting time for residential projects at WMK as we lead the design on some of the largest and most complex residential developments around the country.
Park Sydney, Erskineville - DA submitted
WMK recently won the City Of Sydney design excellence competition to design the first stage of Park Sydney – the Erskineville development by Greenland and Golden Horse – one of Sydney’s largest urban transformation projects.
In this first stage, WMK’s design will transform an industrial site into a dynamic, leafy, residential mixed-use development featuring approximately 325 apartments, pocket parks and public spaces, child care, a central shopping market and cafés.
Villa De Ma III, Rouse Hill - DA submitted
Meanwhile, at Cudgegong Road, Villa De Ma III by MetroAward is the largest apartment development ever seen in Rouse Hill. With architecture and interiors by WMK, 44 and 56 Cudgegong Road combined will feature more than 720 designer apartments and townhouses surrounded by urban resort-style landscaping.
Banc, Brisbane - construction commencing soon
In Brisbane, Ideal Property Australia’s $70 million luxury riverfront building, Banc, will soon start construction. WMK’s architectural design features 33, high-end residences over 15 levels – all with sweeping views of the river. The development bucks the trend of investor stock apartments to appeal to the exclusive owner occupier market.
The Quayhouse, Perth - construction commencing soon
In Perth’s Port Coogee, WMK has designed The Quayhouse. The 38-apartment complex offers spacious one, two and three bedroom apartments, while the private rooftop terrace will feature a movie screen and pool.
IDA, Potts Point - under construction
Back in Sydney, construction has started on the highly complex boutique development, IDA, in inner-city Potts Point. The scheme adaptively reuses a mix of new and refurbished buildings, as well as retained heritage cottages. When completed, the development will feature 30 exclusive apartments with exceptional views to the city and harbour.
Bourke Street, Zetland - competition won
WMK has won yet another City Of Sydney design excellence competition – this time in the rapidly changing inner-city suburb of Zetland.
The brief was to design a residential development with apartments and an active retail frontage along Bourke Street. WMK’s solution incorporates 145 apartments into two elegant buildings running predominantly north/south with infill buildings between. The buildings’ podium knits together the ensemble through a strong scale relationship and by providing a continuity of spaces at ground level that allows visual and physical access through the building. The intent is that the building will contribute to the quality of the urban fabric and becomes a unique experience in this part of the city.
With a number of recent competition wins, highly innovative designs, and construction beginning on many projects it is a very exciting time for residential at WMK.
With offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and a burgeoning team, we look forward to helping more clients with their new projects. For more information contact Greg Barnett, Managing Director, or Rae Gallagher, Client Services Manager, on 02 9299 0401.
