Challenge
Design a mixed-use high rise development for the last undeveloped site in Haymarket, Sydney in a City of Sydney-endorsed competition.
Solution
WMK’s winning scheme delivers a dramatic street presence with offering over 3,000sqm of retail on one level, a basement supermarket and 286 contemporary apartments in two towers.
The residential towers are distinguished by having different architectural expressions and have been designed in the context of the local city setting and its rich cultural diversity.
Outcome
The design expresses the best social aspects of vibrant city living and shopping amidst the character of the Haymarket precinct in this $300mil project.
It instils local buzz and activity in dynamic public spaces and podium retail, while the high-rise apartments provide quality, sunny north-facing living with terraces and views across the city and surrounds.
