Challenge
To design a five-star residential development on a restricted site in Edgecliff with expansive views to the harbour across Double Bay.
The site has several view corridors and height covenants over it that had to be designed within.
Solution
The design strategy included creating two small apartments and a two-level penthouse. By doing this, the scale of the buildings were reduced and vistas to the harbour from the shared forecourt were established.
The result is a luxurious boutique development offering six generously-sized residences with one apartment per floor.
Outcome
The buildings are a classically contemporary design with a refined palate that resonates with the location and user. The facade is composed of a base of dark granite with the upper levels in a softer lime wash.
Deep bronze frames and screens lend a fine layer of detail to the buildings articulation. The outcome will be a development that has the feel of an exclusive resort.
