IOOF

MELBOURNE

Challenge

WMK was invited by JLL to lightly refurbish three assets for IOOF within Melbourne. For each site, WMK was asked to retain a large portion of the existing fit-out while undertaking a light upgrade to refresh the lobby spaces.

The primary challenge for WMK was to create a consistent design language across three disparate sites while also integrating with a number of existing conditions that were intended to be retained.

Solution

WMK focused on retaining the floors and ceilings within each site to minimise cost and disruption to tenants. Integrating old and new materials provided an interesting study in how to harmonise the two for maximum effect.

Our solution incorporated new, more residential furniture settings, improved lighting and considered wall treatments.

While developing a consistent response, WMK focused on delivering a sense of identity for the three sites. Each site incorporates a similar finishes palette but maintains its own identity.

Outcome

WMK has created spaces that invites wellbeing, lightness, nature and a sense of address.

IOOF is particularly happy with the results across the portfolio and is currently working with WMK to refresh their NSW assets.
