Challenge

ANZ Home is the specialised Home Loan branch located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. WMK have delivered a wide range of spaces for ANZ and have an in-depth understanding of the brand and their offerings. For this project, there needed to be a clear level of brand recognisability whilst designing a space that is in essence quite different from the typical
branch.

Solution

By treating the double story retail branch similarly to a residential project, WMK have successfully merged the two environments, resulting in a unique and memorable banking experience. A high level of detail is delivered in the selection of furniture and fittings with a layering of lush and tactile finishes. Beyond that is the addition of artwork and planting that makes the space truly inviting.

Outcome

There is a calm feeling assimilating domesticity to the interior when clients step into the branch from the bustling Bourke Street mall. Whilst all areas of the branch  serve a functional purpose to the operation of the business, they also provide an ambiance that reminds the occupant of a luxurious residential space. It is the first of its kind to explore this design in such entirety and the outcome is a bold and revolutionary approach to the bricks and mortar of banking.
