CHALLENGE

Gosford RSL worked with WMK Architecture to develop a new master plan for the site. The master plan, designed to show the potential for the whole site, included a brand new club, commercial offices, conferencing facilities, an indoor sports facility, and residential apartments. The first phase of the development was the design and construction of the newclub.

SOLUTION

The new club designed by WMK sits on an existing car park, which will allow the old facility to continue operating while the club is being built. Following demolition, commercial and conferencing facilities will be built on the site. With a greater focus on food and beverage venues, including outdoor terrace dining and permanent food trucks, the new clubis designed to attract a younger clientele.

An open facade will increase transparency into the club, encouraging passers by along the busy highway to visit.

OUTCOME

When complete, Gosford will have a revitalised RSL offering with enhanced food and beverage experiences to attract a more diverse clientele. With new function and conferencing facilities, the club will generate a new revenue stream from weddings and corporate events.
