Challenge
Within a very tight timeframe, WMK was engaged to deliver a workplace design for leading Victorian tertiary institution, Deakin University.
The new workspace was to accommodate three faculties relocating from the main Burwood campus and is located close to Greenwood Park.
Solution
WMK’s concept referenced the nearby park and carved a series of pathways throughout the space, linking experiences along the way.
The designers focused on creating distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own identity through a muted palette that linked back to the park and its surrounds.
For flexibility, communal areas feature modular furniture and planters, allowing the spaces to be tailored for events and functions.
Outcome
Through a highly collaborative design and construction phase, the project was delivered on time and on budget.
