CHALLENGE
WMK was engaged to design a deliver an innovative and progessive workplace for a prominent financial services client in the Sydney CBD. The design was to support the clients ‘New Ways of Working’ strategy whilst focusing on both environmental and social sustainability. The workplace design was to cater to our clients new agile way of working, allowing staff to be centralised in one location and to comfortably transition between flexible work spaces that suited individual and group requirements.
SOLUTION
WMK’s design solution is based on connectivity and community which supports collaboration and various styles of working. An inter-tenancy stair spans across the four back of house floors and creates a central hub of activity with a different focus on each floor – meeting, technology, collaboration, and wellness, while the general work zones offer a variety of different collaborative and focus-based work settings to allow staff to choose the way they wish to work.
The dedicated front-of-house floor provides an opportunity to break down the barriers between internal and external visitors, providing opportunities for informal meetings and individual work for both staff and guests, whilst the vast array of meet spaces cater to different collaboration styles.
OUTCOME
This new workplace integrates their new ways of working in a cohesive and communal manner, connecting people through a spacious modern environment. Our client has recieved positive feedback from staff who have embraced the variety of working and meeting settings, creating a constant buzz of activity around the central stair.
This project has achieved the criteria of a four star Green Star rating and is aligned to the WEL Building Standard.
