WMK was delighted to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for 890-898 Bourke St, Zetland
 
WMK is delivering the architecture and interiors on the development for our valued partners Barings Real Estate Australia, Aware Super and BINAH.
 
It was a privilege to hear from Hon. Rose Jackson, Minister for Housing and Minister for Homelessness, Lord Mayor, Councillor Clover Moore AO, Deanne Stewart, CEO of Aware Super and Michelle McNally, CEO of Aware Real Estate, who spoke to the contribution this project will make to the housing shortage, accommodation for essential workers and to the precinct more broadly.
 
Today’s ceremony represents a much-awaited milestone for WMK having worked on the project for almost 7 years, initially winning a City of Sydney design excellence competition in May 2017, then re-designing the scheme as BTR for Barings & Aware Super, following their purchase of the project in 2019, and finally partnering with Binah on the delivery of the project.
 
We look forward to seeing this next-generation affordable BTR residential development come to life in one of Sydney’s most desirable metropolitan suburbs.
