Over 400 projects, people, products and ideas were submitted for the 2017 INDE.Awards, demonstrating the strength and prowess of architects and designers across the Asia Pacific.
WMK’s NBCS learning space has been shortlisted in ‘The Building’ category. The Building is granted to a project that advances architecture and its capacity to respond to place-specific, cultural needs.
The design of NBCS’ new learning facility is unique – students no longer sit at desks in classrooms. Instead, pupils learn in interactive indoor/outdoor spaces enabled with wireless technology, beneath a spectacular 3000 square metre intelligent canopy which harvests rainwater, generates energy, and cools the spaces below.
The groundbreaking project has already won an Australian Institute of Architects National Award for Sustainability and a Good Design Award.
