Catch WMK on national TV again at 2pm on Saturday 4 November (with an encore at 3.30pm on Sunday).

From products to gadgets and buildings, the country’s most innovative designs will be showcased in the new television series, Australia By Design Innovation (ABDI).

WMK’s Sargood On Collaroy featured in the first episode. Now, WMK’s NBCS project will feature on the second episode this weekend.

NBCS is unique – it’s the school of the future,” said WMK Managing Director, Greg Barnett.

WMK designed an indoor/outdoor multi-nodal activity-based learning environment with no classrooms, no desks, and no staff room and a café at the heart of the school. Students learn beneath a 3000sqm canopy that collects rainwater, generates electricity and cools the spaces below using automated windows and misting.

“I’m often asked, ‘What is the workplace of the future?’ and this could be it. In a few short years these students will be entering the workplace and this way of working and this type of physical environment will be their expectation,” says Barnett.

WMK and NBCS will air on TEN at 2pm Saturday 4 November and on ONE at 3.30pm on Sunday 5 November.
