In a bid to escape the busyness of meetings and deadlines the team at WMK Melbourne has been stepping out of the office and taking part in F45 training sessions and once a week lunchtime yoga and meditation. The team members are advocates for improving and maintaining physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
Conveniently located a couple of blocks away from the office we have taken advantage of the free lunchtime sessions held every Tuesdays for yoga and meditation at The Atrium in Federation Square.
Just like many others, a typical work day is spent on our computers and sitting at our desks. It has been extremely beneficial for all since taking part in the yoga sessions as it has helped us become more aware of thoughtful movements. Stretching and postures focus on controlled breathing have assisted to improve core strength and flexibility. The yoga sessions are guided by Derrick Leduc and Kaya Pilates Yoga Fitness. We have now incorporated daily stretching in the office!
We have also attended the meditation sessions before yoga which focuses on mindfulness held by Buddhist Monk Gen Dornying who is a resident teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Melbourne.
We are fortunate enough to have these sessions available for us until December and we aim to continuously attend throughout the rest of the year!
