As part of the 2017 Sydney Festival, the Cutaway at Barangaroo is playing host to ‘The Beach’, a monochromatic installation of 1.1 million recyclable polyethylene balls that make an ocean to float in without getting wet and gently lapping against a 60-metre wide shoreline free of sand.

“We continue to see the Cutaway used in a variety of innovative ways. The sheer expanse of the space lends itself to incredible uses, limited only by imagination,” said WMK Architect and Director, John Andreas.

WMK worked with Lendlease and the Barangaroo Delivery Authority as the architectural design consultant for the cultural space including the Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve.
