As Albert Einstein once said "Creativity is intelligence having fun".
Saturday Indesign is just that and some, with WMK part of it all.
Bringing the best of local and international products from leading brands together with the incredible creative talents from within the design and architecture industry, this one day extravaganza is an event not to be missed.
Packed full of engaging content including informative talks and product launches, one of the key features of Saturday Indesign is the series of collaborative installations strategically dotted around Melbourne to allow visitors to take in the picturesque sites of one of the world's most livable cities whilst gaining inspiration for their creative mind.
WMK has collaborated with Arthur G and Mokum to create a visual journey between two seemingly contradictory design aesthetics. The "Double Take" project investigates how we could insert gestures within the space which of themselves could serve as a framework for the product display. It is an undulating and immersive installation that embraces both product and audience. The intent is to highlight the narrative of the textiles through a three-dimensional framing of the custom furniture settings.
The collaborative showroom at 618 Church St, Richmond serves as the host location for the first speaking event of the day "Unpacking Australian Design Classics". An impressionable list of speakers will discuss what makes a design icon and look at iconic Australian design and why it's important to look back to look forward.
Saturday Indesign is held in Melbourne on 22 June, 2019.
