Last night was the Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for new Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel. The WMK Design Team, John Andreas, Justin Condon and Ryu Ogino attended the ceremony to celebrate the opening with client Denwol Group, head contractor Lipman, and project manager Construction Assignments.

The delivery of the completed hotel was one month ahead of programme with first day of trade scheduled for Tuesday 7 May 2013. Over 70 rooms are already booked!

Closer than the airport cab rank, the hotel is just a one minute walk from the Sydney International Terminal. The hotel offers 318 keys, Touchdown sports bar and café on ground level with the Blackwattle Grill on mezzanine offering an a la cartè dining experience. The hotel’s features also include a Gymnasium, fully equipped meeting and function rooms on level 1, and a rooftop Conference Centre with external deck on level 9.

WMK was responsible for the interior design of all areas of the hotel. The fluid organic lines of the lobby lead guests to the hospitality areas on the ground floor and up to mezzanine and level 1, via the sinuous curves of the “grand stair”. The journey is highlighted along the way with punches of Sydney colour in the curvaceous FF&E and off form concrete columns.

With the comfort of double glazed windows to ensure a good sleep you can enjoy spectacular city and airport views from level 2 and above.

Fly In, Drink, Dine, Relax and Fly Out!
