WMK has submitted town planning for the first stages of the multi-billion-dollar Revitalising Central Dandenong project, working in close collaboration with our client, Capital Alliance.

The design is deeply rooted in the surrounding natural environment and Dandenong’s industrial past. The region's mountain ash forests, early brick manufacturing, and strong mid-20th century industrialisation all serve as points of reference in the design's evolution.

A signature element of the WMK design is the deliberate twisting of a residential tower. This breaks the master-planned rectilinear grid. By referencing existing site lines and building axes, it opens views for residents while providing greater building separation and reinforcing existing placemaking gestures.

The proposal provides over 330 apartments across three distinct buildings, aligning with our client’s vision for a vibrant, inclusive, 18-hour city that sustains activity and engagement day and night. Activating the ground level, 12,000sqm of retail space is dedicated to key opportunities, including food and beverage, childcare, healthcare, and a gymnasium.
