The hospitality industry’s leading minds are set to gather this week at the Australasian Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition in Adelaide one of the most influential events on the hotel investment and design calendar.

Held at the iconic Adelaide Oval, AHICE brings together owners, operators, designers, and innovators from across the region to share insights, explore emerging trends, and shape the future of hospitality. The conference is known for its forward-looking program, covering everything from hotel development and investment to technology, guest experience, and design innovation.

This year, WMK is once again proud to be part of the conversation.

Julie Ockerby at Design Inn Symposium

As part of AHICE, the Design Inn Symposium will once again spotlight the critical role of design in shaping memorable guest experiences. We’re excited to share that Julie Ockerby will be speaking on Tuesday 5 May as part of a panel discussion titled:

“Designing with Intelligence: How AI Is Rewriting the Future of Hotel Architecture and Interiors.”

Joining a panel of industry experts, Julie will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the design process from early concept development through to operational efficiency and personalised guest experiences. As technology continues to evolve, the session will examine how designers can harness AI to create smarter, more responsive, and more meaningful spaces.

Connecting at AHICE

In addition to Julie’s panel session, WMK’s Directors will be attending AHICE on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 May. The event presents a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, collaborators, and clients, while engaging in conversations that are shaping the future of our industry.

From sustainability and adaptive reuse to the integration of technology in design, AHICE continues to provide a platform for ideas that challenge convention and inspire progress.
