WMK Architecture celebrates the opening of Adina Chermside Brisbane, a light-filled response to subtropical urban living
WMK celebrates the completion and opening of Adina Chermside Brisbane, a 148-key apartment hotel that brings a design-led approach to one of Brisbane’s fastest-growing urban centres.
Positioned in the heart of Chermside, just 20 minutes from the CBD and moments from Westfield Chermside and The Prince Charles Hospital, the completed Adina Chermside reflects the suburb’s evolution into a vibrant mixed-use destination while offering guests a calm, residential-style retreat.
The building’s architectural form expresses WMK’s strategy of fragmenting and articulating the mass into a series of distinct volumes. This approach introduces natural light deep into internal corridors and shared spaces, enhancing the everyday guest experience.
Horizontal blades and vertical screening elements define the façade, creating depth, shading and privacy, while expansive glazing captures sweeping suburban views and distant sightlines toward the Brisbane skyline.
“With Adina Chermside now complete, you can really see how the building responds to its context,” said David Percival. “The articulation of the form, access to daylight and connection to outlook were all fundamental to creating a hotel that feels open, comfortable and intrinsically connected to Brisbane’s subtropical lifestyle.”
The exterior palette reinterprets traditional materials found throughout Chermside including face brick, rendered finishes and terracotta tones into a contemporary architectural language that feels both grounded and refined.
Integrated landscaping softens the built form, with planting woven across the podium and extending vertically along the façade. This greenery reinforces the building’s connection to its surroundings and establishes a visual and experiential link between architecture and landscape.
Passive design principles are embedded throughout, with building orientation, generous glazing and operable windows working together to reduce energy demand and provide guests with access to natural light and ventilation.
Inside, the completed interiors reflect WMK’s guiding principles of community, sanctuary and connection.

Inspired by the natural character of Chermside Hills Reserve, the hotel’s material palette introduces soft, nature-inspired tones and textures that create a calm and restorative atmosphere.
Spaces flow seamlessly from one to another, from the lobby lounge and café/bar to meeting rooms and accommodation levels, creating a cohesive guest journey. Each area has been designed to feel like an extension of the guest room, reinforcing comfort and familiarity.
“The interior experience was about creating a sense of retreat within an urban setting,” said Percival. “Now that the hotel is open, you can see how the continuity of materials and the softness of the palette help establish a genuine ‘home away from home’ for a wide range of guests.”
The opening of Adina Chermside marks a significant addition to the area’s evolving urban fabric, responding to growing demand for high-quality, longer-stay accommodation in Brisbane’s northern corridor.
The hotel offers a mix of studio, and one-bedroom apartments including interconnecting configurations, each with kitchen and laundry facilities, alongside amenities including an all-day dining café/bar, meeting rooms with natural light, a gym and undercover parking.
Developed by Limitless Developments and operated by TFE Hotels, the project reflects a shared commitment to delivering a contemporary hospitality experience grounded in place, sustainability and user comfort.
As Brisbane continues its trajectory toward the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the completion of Adina Chermside positions the suburb as an increasingly important accommodation hub offering visitors a well-connected, design-focused base with a distinctly local character.
