When WMK took on the challenge of reimagining Merchant House at 333 Kent Street, the goal was to transform it into an inspired new workplace while honouring its rich history. Initially established in 1887 as a hub for merchant pioneers, this iconic building is now a powerhouse of innovation and sustainability.
Nestled in Sydney’s most connected cultural precinct, it offers premium A-grade commercial office and retail spaces while embracing adaptive reuse. A striking facade strategy by WMK unifies the tower into a singular architectural form, creating a timeless presence. Inside, the Sanctuary space designed in conjunction with Woods Bagot redefines workplace wellness, seamlessly integrating end-of-trip facilities with an indoor/outdoor landscaped community. At ground level, the activated lobby and newly opened Humble Bakery café further enhance the vibrant work-life experience.
