Located in the heart of Geelong, ‘Cunningham Place’ designed by WMK, has received planning approval from the Victorian Government.

The development is the largest private project in the area to be granted such permission and will set a new benchmark for mixed-use development, and help to activate and revitalise Central Geelong.

The $250m development will offer more than 1,500 FTE construction jobs per annum over 2 years and 300+ FTE jobs once operational, delivering enhanced community facilities, and stylish upmarket accommodation offerings.

The nearly 5,000m2 development site will feature a hotel, world-class restaurant and café, function & conference centre, supermarket, medical centre, childcare facility, and private residential apartments.

The proposed mixed-use development seeks to fuse Geelong’s parkland, emerging civic precinct, and the north-facing Corio Bay. The design response celebrates and expresses Geelong’s rich industrial past, by magnifying visceral connections that remain evident in the urban fabric today, creating a truly contextually responsive, city-shaping project for the future of the city of Geelong.

"This exciting project will create a new landmark destination for the region and is the manifestation of a successful design and collaboration process between WMK, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), City of Greater Geelong, Tract and Amber Property Group.” says Steve Tillinger, WMK Director.

Construction commences in 2023 and is expected to be completed in readiness for the Commonwealth Games in 2026.
