Challenge
Located in the prestigious suburb of Toowong, the new Banc development will be just four kilometres from Brisbane's CBD.
The challenge was to design a 15-20 storey high-end luxury residential tower on the banks of the Brisbane River.
Solution
WMK’s design features 33 high-end residences, called 'sky homes', over 15 levels. Residents enter through a basement grotto, separating the entry from the ground level units – allowing the units to be uncompromised in their amenity.
Each sky home, averaging a generous 220 square metres in size, offers private lift-to-door access. Due to its clever design, all residences will feature panoramic river views.
The building’s exoskeleton references the bridges of Brisbane, providing a striking modern edge, while its palette brings elegance and complements the interiors.
Exclusive residents' facilities include an infinity pool, barbecue terrace, lush gardens, and a dedicated wine cellar and tasting room.
Outcome
The resulting design by WMK is a world-class example of elegant modern style overlooking Brisbane River.
“The building is a statement of sophistication,” said WMK Architect, Russell Grady. “The simplicity and elegance of the development will present an iconic address to the Toowong end of Coronation Drive.”
