Northern Beaches Christian School Official Opening!

The WMK team was delighted to be part of last night’s official opening of Northern Beaches Christian School's breakthrough multi-modal learning environment – designed by WMK – which reinvents the notion of what a school building should be and creates a built environment that actively shapes a new culture for learning.

In a highly successful collaboration of education and built environment vision, the architectural design delivers a unique learning environment that identifies with the learning style of the next generation to engage young adults, reshaping our thinking about how school buildings can be used to actively promote better learning and prepare students for future work environments.

John Andreas, Laurie Day, Denisse Milton and the wider project team joined students, teachers, and the school community at a spectacular event last night which included live musical performances, special guest speakers and even a student flash mob!

Congratulations to Stephen Harris, Alan Schultz, and everyone at the Northern Beaches Christian School.

Barangaroo Reserve Officially Opens to the Public

WMK attended the official opening of Barangaroo Reserve, which was opened by the Premier of NSW and joined by the former Australian Prime Minister. The opening gave the public a chance to explore the new space and to be involved in activities throughout the day.

The Reserve includes new walkways capturing breathtaking views of Sydney’s prestigious harbour, while featuring 75,000 native plants and individually crafted sandstone blocks which have been placed within the reserve including the foreshore. WMK co-ordinated with an extensive team of specialist consultants to deliver a new cultural space ‘The Cutaway’ which sits within Barangaroo Reserve. The space also includes a carpark below, skylights, an existing sandstone escarpment and is designed to be flexible.

A magnificent and successful addition to the Sydney Harbour that can be enjoyed by many generations to come.

Barangaroo Picnic Day

The Barangaroo Delivery Authority hosted the Barangaroo Headland Park project wrap picnic on Sunday for all the people involved in the project and their families.

It was a beautiful warm, sunny day for the occasion, and the park was looking particularly good. It was great to see the park being enjoyed and tested before the big opening this weekend.
