It’s not typically something on a designers’ ‘to do list’ – and surely if you did, chances are it will not happen – but if asked to judge for any design industry awards take the opportunity for the privilege it is. A forced pause, and an objective look at the best environments and experiences produced in this country in one year is rarely offered. Doing so with peers on the judging panel enables review, evaluation and a deep respect for projects and designers. In some ways it changes forever how you think about design, the communication of design, and what it means to be innovative and new.
The shortlisted projects, from the largest pool of entries ever received, demonstrate the high standard of competition this year. The winners will be announced 25th May. For more information visit architectureau.com
