WMK was engaged as Architectural Partner to deliver the branch of the future: ANZ’s new flagship environment within the Sydney CBD’s dynamic banking and technology precinct.

 

The new branch is part of a paradigm shift in the banking sector to bring digital into the physical branch environment, creating a more engaging experience between ANZ staff and its customers.

 

Led by Blue Sky’s design concept, WMK worked closely with ANZ and Blue Sky to develop the design and bring these ideas to life in a physical environment, with a focus on maintaining a strong brand presence and customer experience throughout.

Solution

The flagship has been designed to make banking simpler, enjoyable and immersive. Design elements such as side-by-side desks create a more personable experience for customers.

 

 

 

The branch features a range of digital elements, including an interactive three-storey digital garden – a permanent installation that displays a constantly-changing garden driven by social media interactions. The intelligent backdrop showcases innovative technology and enhances the customer experience.

 

 

 

Dedicated spaces include discovery zones, discussion areas and seminar spaces, while digital screens explain products, demonstrate solutions and promote sponsorships.

The new branch offers a full range of digital banking options, eliminating the need for paper and providing faster response times to queries.

 

It is the largest branch in the network and reflects the way ANZ is using digital technology to enhance the branch experience for customers.
